SCHOOLS PROGRAM

AZAHAR can make available to interested teachers and principals in the public or private schools one-time demonstration recitals of flamenco music or dance. The artistic directors will generally be professional artists and there will be live guitar music. Clearly, since flamenco is a Spanish art, these recitals are well suited to schools which have intensive Spanish language programs. The content of the recital can be adjusted to suit the age of the students and their degree of Spanish fluency. Contact us at: azahar1@igc.org

YOUNG ARTIST PROGRAM

Flamenco is generally a solo art form. There is a formidable obstacle to the emerging artist in that to develop stage presence, he or she needs to appear on stage in front of an audience, and yet producers are usually unwilling to take a risk on a new artist. AZAHAR can help in this transition by producing performances specifically for new young artists. The events aim at a professional level of performance and are open to the public.

NEW COMPANY PROGRAM

There are often artistic directors and choreographers of considerable talent who do not have the economic or administrative resources to mount a major stage event, or series of events. AZAHAR can serve as a production organisation for one or two years to mount such performances, while giving the company an opportunity to grow and mature.

AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT

Flamenco is an art which is still little known beyond the limited ranks of the aficionados, and our mission therefore includes supporting flamenco performances in venues where the art is not often seen. We will facilitate such performances, from small private recitals to larger theatrical shows for corporate entities. Contact us to discuss availability and prices.
